How do you change your mindset to achieve career success?
The first question I want you to ask yourself is; ‘what does your internal critique say to you, when you want to try something new’? If it sometimes says ‘Are you good enough to do this?’ you need to recognise this doubt and not only call it out but learn how to answer back to it!
You may think that by ignoring the internal ‘doubtful’ voice you are controlling your thoughts, but in reality, all you are doing is allowing your subconscious to absorb this doubt and multiply it.
Once you recognise the internal voice of scepticism you need to understand how to answer it. Which you can do by reminding yourself of your abilities, your strengths and what you have learned from past life experiences so far.
The internal critique usually has a great memory for reminding you of what you can’t do and where you have failed before. However, you can use this to your advantage to recognise your past mistakes and understand what you have learned from them so that you don’t make the same mistakes in the future.
Finally, be kind to yourself and only use internal language that you would use when talking to your best friend. Encourage yourself to do more challenging things that will lead to career success, compliment yourself when it goes well and reward yourself for the hard work and effort you have put into achieving success.
