Is Walking Coaching for you? And what is it?

I had my first experience of walking coaching when I was studying for my MSc in Henley Business School. Situation on the river Thames, the location is beautiful and lends itself to being the right environment for learning while walking.

However, I have found that any space that is in nature can provide us with the most amazing space to generate deep thinking, resulting in a faster shift in mindset and develop ‘Aha moments’

There is something very powerful about walking in a collaborative partnership. Removing the constraints of our office or home environment, by looking ahead, listening to sounds of nature and moving our bodies that allow our creative mind to thrive and think differently.

Although walking coaching is a relatively recent idea there is continuous scientific evidence being backed up the International Coaching Body on the number of benefits of walking. However, it has been around since the 4th-century, when the philosopher St. Augustine wrote, “It is solved by walking” and, more recently, Walter Isaacson wrote of Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple), “Taking a long walk was his preferred way to have a serious conversation.”

I was delighted to receive this feedback from a Walking Coaching session I recently had

I really enjoyed our walk in the park the other day, I learned that there are times I must walk more slowly, thank you.

I gained a lot from our sessions, and I feel that it has benefited me enormously, I truly appreciate your time and expertise.

If you would like to see how Walking Coaching could work for you, please DM me.
